PATIENT REVIEWS & FEEDBACK
Absolutely love Dr. Carlson! I met him back in 2016 when I got in a low impact car wreck with an 18 wheeler, although low impact I still got tossed around pretty good in my car. I was dealing with shoulder pain, upper back pain and neck pain.
Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. They were very clear in explaining the procedure and what to expect. I won’t lie the injection was a little painful, but they were ready to hold my hand. The follow up phone call the next day was also appreciated;
Dr Carlson and his team have helped me through car accidents, falls and even a ruptured disk. He is extremely attentive to his patient’s needs and he has been treating me and my husband for about twenty years. I trust his opinion and now even my children..
What is considered integrative medicine?
Integrative medicine is the medical field with the objective of replacing tissues that have been damaged by disease, trauma, or congenital issues. This is in contrast to the current clinical strategy that focuses primarily on treating the symptoms. The tools used to accomplish these goals are tissue engineering, cellular therapies and medical devices.
A combination of these approaches can amplify our natural healing processes where it is needed most. Integrative medicine is a cutting-edge medical field that brings together experts in genetics, biology, medicine, chemistry, robotics, computer science, engineering, and other fields to find solutions to some of the most challenging medical problems faced by humanity.
When injured or invaded by pathogens, our bodies have the inherent response to heal and defend. What if it was possible to harness the healing power of the body and accelerate it in a medically relevant way?
The auspicious field of Integrative Medicine is progressing toward the restoration and restructuring of dysfunctional or damaged tissues. The aim of this approach is to discover a way to treat previously incurable injuries and diseases.
What is integrative medicine?
Integrative medicine is the field of medicine that focuses on the entire body and makes use of all appropriate restorative approaches, healthcare professionals, and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing.
It combines revolutionary medical treatments with other conventional therapies that are carefully selected and shown to be effective and safe. The goal is to unite the best that traditional medicine has to offer with other therapeutic systems and remedial treatments derived from cultures and ideas both old and new.
A big difference between integrative medicine and traditional medicine, is that integrative medicine is based upon a model of health and wellness, as opposed to a model of disease, like in traditional medicine. Whenever possible, integrative medicine favors the use of basic, inexpensive treatments and interventions.
The integrative medicine model recognizes the importance of the role that the relationship with the practitioner plays in a patient’s overall healthcare experience. With this in mind, integrative medicine seeks to care for the entirety of the person by taking into account the several different interrelated physical and nonphysical factors that affect health, wellness, and disease.
Am I a good candidate for integrative medicine?
The fact is, we’re only scratching the surface of the potential applications for integrative medicine. That said, many clients are benefitting from integrative medicine for such issues as:
- Hip pain
- Knee pain
- Elbow pain
- Shoulder pain
Pain can develop from any number of musculoskeletal issues, but arthritis accounts for the majority. With 54 million cases already in its clutches, experts predict that the number of those with arthritis will rise to 78 million by 2040.
Integrative medicine can be used to manage general health as well as support the healing of many chronic health conditions.
It uses evidence-based approaches to help many patients suffering from chronic health conditions, including:
- Chronic fatigue
- Persistent pain
With integrative medicine, we can focus on healing the underlying causes of your chronic health issues, which significantly decreases or alleviates your symptoms altogether and improves your quality of life.
